Embracing the Fitness Lifestyle
Hello, I’m Linda. I started training with Jessica in early 2015 after watching marathon episodes of “My 600 Pounds Life” on TLC one fine Sunday afternoon. It was the defining moment in my life when I decided to embrace the healthy and fitness lifestyle under the guidance of a personal trainer.
Having zero experience in strength and weight training, the gym was rather intimidating environment for me to begin with. With the help of Jessica as we train during our sessions at the Elite PT gym, I become more comfortable to work on the weight machines and the free weights on my own while I travel for work during the week or for fun on weekends.
Before working with my personal trainer, I weighted at 199 pounds. After seven months of training with Jessica three times a week for an hour per session, I currently weigh in at 184 pounds. My standing and sitting postures have improved, as well as my hand grips. The difference in weight and inches are very noticeable as I receive many compliments from my friends and coworkers about my newly improved appearance.
On days that Jessica made me run and do bear crawls on the floor, I asked myself why would I pay someone to make me go through such physical inconveniences. However, at the end of each session after putting in all the hard work, I drove away from the gym with a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment. Jessica pushes me beyond my imaginable limits where my body endure and later conform to many challenges, physically and mentally.
Adding a personal trainer into my portfolio is one of the greatest investments I have made for my present and future self. Jessica is very committed and passionate about her clients. She put in great effort to work with me around my hectic and sometimes unpredictable schedule so that I can get my workout done at the optimum time of the day within the week. Having a personal trainer keep me committed to my workout routine and teaches me to be disciplined. Besides, it’s always nice to have that one person who is always rooting for you!
“If you want something you’ve never had, then you must be willing to do something you’ve never done”, said Thomas Jefferson. I keep this quote close to my heart and mind as I go through my fitness journey. Fitness is not a destination, it is a lifestyle.
